 DMEK (Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty) is a new type of partial-thickness corneal graft operation in which only the innermost corneal layers are replaced, instead of the whole thickness of the cornea as happens in a conventional full-thickness graft (penetrating keratoplasty).
